Centralised Linux Patching
Infrastructure automation
Built centralised Linux patching workflows with staged updates, reboot handling and per-host reporting.
Operational · Accepted
The task
Linux server updates require repeatable execution and clear visibility into failed or unreachable hosts.
My contribution
Created inventories and playbooks, configured SSH access and tested update and privilege-handling workflows.
Implementation
- Support security-only and full updates across Ubuntu and RHEL-family systems.
- Organise staged execution and reboot hosts when required.
- Write per-host logs and report failures or unreachable servers.
Outcome
The solution is working and has been accepted. It provides a repeatable patching process with host-level execution records.
Scope & limitations
Successful execution is assessed per host. Unreachable hosts and update failures remain visible in reports.
